Scholarship

Scholarships are financial assistance schemes provided by the Central Government, State Governments, organizations, departments, and the Institute to support eligible students.

Scholarship is a type of financial help given to students. Different scholarship schemes are run and governed by the Central and State Governments. Each scheme has its own eligibility criteria and scholarship amount, as decided by the governing authority.

Students must satisfy the specified eligibility criteria of the particular scheme under which they want to avail the benefit. Most scholarship schemes are available on different scholarship portals and students can apply online.

Note: The amount of scholarship is directly credited to the beneficiary account under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme of Government of India.
Institute is just the mediatory to verify your form.

Guidelines

  1. One student can avail only one scholarship.
  2. The amount of scholarship will directly be transferred to the account of the student under the DBT Scheme. Payment will NOT be done by cash or cheque.
  3. The bank account used for receiving the scholarship amount should be in the name of the student only.
  4. The bank account of the beneficiary must be Aadhaar seeded.

Mandatory Documents Required

  • Form duly signed by the applicant
  • Bonafide Certificate in NSP Format
  • JEE Score Card (for MP-MMVY New Forms)
  • Disability Certificate from CMO (if applicable)
  • Income Certificate (NOT Form 16)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Aadhar Card
  • Fee Receipt
  • Bank Account Details
  • 10th & 12th Marksheet/Certificate
  • Grade Cards (if applicable)

Important Points

  • Bonafide Certificate is provided by the AAA Section.
  • Bonafide Certificate in NSP format duly completed has to be sent to aaa@iiita.ac.in for signature.
  • Fee receipt can be obtained from the Accounts Section.

DOs and DON’Ts

  1. Apply well before the last date of submission.
  2. Do not fill forms in hurry or carelessly.
  3. Clear all doubts properly before submission.
  4. Read instructions, notices, and circulars carefully.
  5. Read all e-mails sent by the Institute carefully.
  6. Keep your contact details updated in Institute records.
  7. Regularly check your Institute e-mail ID.
  8. Submit complete forms with supporting documents.
  9. Do not send forms by post or submit by hand unless specifically instructed.

Institute Scholarships

A. Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

  • Cumulative Average of SGPI of two semesters per year should be equal to or above 8.50.
  • Parental Income should be less than Rs. 5.00 Lakh per annum.
  • Beneficiaries: upto 3% of total strength in individual program.
  • Scholarship Amount: Rs. 36,000/- per annum.

B. Institute Merit Incentive Award

  • Cumulative Average of SGPI of two semesters per year should be equal to or above 9.00.
  • Beneficiaries: upto 2% of total strength in individual program.
  • Scholarship Amount: Rs. 36,000/- per annum.

Students awarded with Merit Incentive Award will NOT be eligible for Merit-cum-Means Scholarship.
