Shri. Ravi Kant, former Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Tata Motors and head of the company’s commercial-vehicle business, has played the driving role in Transformation of Tata Motors into a highly successful, well-diversified, and globally ambitious automobile giant.
Shri. Ravi Kant, has served as Director of Consumer Electronics at Philips India; Director of Marketing at LML Ltd; Vice President of Marketing at Titan Watches Ltd and the President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
He has been Chairman of IIM Rohtak; Tata Advance Materials Ltd.; TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd.; Tata Advanced Materials Limited and Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Tata Motors Limited.
He joined Tata Motors in 1999. He has been Non-Executive Independent Director of Vedanta Limited since January 29, 2015 and served as its Non-Executive Director since January 28, 2014 until January 29, 2015. He has been a Director of Kone Oyj since February 2014, Director, Tata Advanced Materials Limited since January 28 , 2009 and Director, National Institute of Design (India) and Enactus (USA) and WonderWork (USA).
He served as a Non-Executive Director of Tata Motors Limited from July 12, 2000 to June 1, 2014. He has been Director of Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc (formerly, Jaguar Land Rover Plc) from 2008 to 2012, Director, TAL Manufacturing Solutions Limited until June 01, 2014 and Director, Tata Industries Ltd. He served as a Non Independent Non-Executive Director of Voltas Ltd. He has a Bachelor of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, MS in Industry from Aston University and Honorary D.Sc from Aston University.
